"Open Structures in Design Education : A recent Government Proposal"

A Graduate of the National Institute of Design, India, Abhimanyu has worked since 2002 in varied industries on a wide range of projects from aeronautical equipment, automobiles and software systems to exhibitions, furniture and consumer products. Abhimanyu set up his design practice, Kiba Design, in 2005 and has since expanded his professional services to include strategic design and innovation consulting, and works in active advisory capacities in various high-level national and international bodies, including the Virtual Museum Transnational Network (a network of excellence, funded by the European FP7), and as an expert adviser on design innovation at the National Innovation Council (NInC), Government of India. At NInC, Abhimanyu worked on a proposal to create new institutions and structures of design education and practice, that will contribute to the creation of an innovation ecosystem that addresses India's social, environmental, and economic challenges.

Abhimanyu gave a talk at the DDEI - Designing Design Education for India conference in Pune in early 2013. He spoke about his work at the National Innovation Council, creating policy on design education for India.
